Additional PII may be required depending on the application type you have filled out. If you enter personal information but do not complete the form or complete a purchase of the service provided by the Site, this information will be retained and used in line with the section “Use of your Personal Information” stated below. This information is used to provide the passport and visa application review services that you purchase. ECS may also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your age and gender. We may gather additional personally identifiable information (“PII”) or non-personal information from you in the future.
Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by ECS. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the site.
ECS encourages you to review the privacy statements of websites you choose to link to from ECS so that you can understand how those websites collect, use and share your information. ECS is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites outside of the site.
ECS collects and uses your PII to deliver the services you have requested.
ECS may also use your PII to inform you of other products or services available from ECS. ECS may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.
ECS does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. ECS does not disclose PII to third parties without the user’s consent.
ECS may keep track of the pages our users visit within the Site, in order to determine what ECS services are the most popular. This data is used by ECS to deliver customized content and advertising to ECS customers whose behaviour indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.
You may request at anytime confirmation of whether or not any of your PII is held and, if so, what that PII consists of. This request should be made in writing and addressed to the postal address provided within the Contact Details. This information will be provided within 40 days upon request and you may be charged a fee of up to £10 for each subject access request.
The site may use "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Text-based Cookies (I.e. non-executable text files) cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. We may in some cases also use web beacons in order to track the opening web pages or emails specific to individual customers and/or visitors.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize pages of the Site, or register with ECS site or services, a cookie helps ECS to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the Site, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the ECS features that you customized.
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. For more information on cookies and how to disable them, you can consult the Interactive Advertising Bureau at www.allaboutcookies.org. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the ECS services or websites you visit.
ECS secures your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card or debit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. ECS does not collect payment information and at no point receive and therefore store the credit/debit card information. Customers of the Site are redirected to a third party payment gateway to submit a payment. While we use industry standard procedures to safeguard your PII once we receive it, no transmission of data over the internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
The site maybe used by the parents or guardians of children under the age of 13 to purchase products or services concerning those children, and some of those products or services may require such parents or guardians to submit PII about their children under the age of 13. The site is not directed to children under the age of 13 however, and ECS does not knowingly collect PII from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, it must be stressed and made clear that you are not permitted to use the site.
